Change is the norm for most organizations in this fast paced world, and team building and alignment is a constant goal for every executive. We bring our expertise and experience through a combination of team coaching and facilitation.

We prefer to be actively involved in understanding the needs of the group and its leader before undertaking facilitation of a specific event. We typically interview all members of the team to understand their perspective and then synthesize our analysis of the situation. This insight allows us to discuss the challenges with the leader of the group and suggest alternative approaches to improving the cohesion and effectiveness of the team.

We then structure working sessions with the group in which we apply the agreed-upon approaches to explore the areas requiring attention, consider the dynamics of the group, work on specific issues and develop action plans for the future. We also make use of psychometric testing and feedback if increased awareness of individual differences can be useful to improving the group dynamic.

The goal is to help the group develop an understanding of how to work collaboratively for the greater good of all involved. We facilitate the process that can launch a team on a new path by:

  • Naming the issues
  • Agreeing to a shared purpose
  • Exploring the different perspectives within the group
  • Developing a shared understanding
  • Investigating new possibilities
  • Gaining commitment to behaviour changes

In our experience, team building and alignment activities work best when they are focused around the actual issues the group must resolve. We therefore make our work sessions very practical and custom tailor the materials to your specific situation and needs.

We also work hard to manage expectations that teams are not built in a day. One session can be a great beginning, but it will require the ongoing commitment of the leader and all team members for the initiative to succeed. We can assist by continuing to work with the individuals and the group to keep moving you forward until your goals are achieved.
